Dr. David Samadi is the Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and what some refer to as a celebrity doctor. He believes that it is wise to invest in telesurgery and telemedicine, which enable doctors to do surgeries and take care of patients remotely. The reason is that he feels that robotics are going to continue to improve, and it’s a good idea to get in on the ground floor before the industry blows up. Dr. Samadi, himself, is working on a new way of removing the prostate, which he is calling the Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique (SMART). Instead of stripping off nerves in the process of removing the prostate, his procedure will allow him to very precisely remove the prostate without needing to remove any nerves.

Dr, David Samadi has a unique way of bringing ideas to life, which stems from his photographic memory. Even if an idea strikes him in the middle of the night, he will get up and draw or make diagrams to illustrate his idea. This helps him to remember it later, and he also draws ideas from other people by being a great listener. To deal with stress the good doctor practices breathing exercises, gets plenty of physical exercise, and even plays backgammon to keep his mind sharp.
He gives his patients the utmost amount of attention and care and allows them to have access to him around the clock by way of cell phone. He has always known that the quality of care he gives is much more important than the quantity of patients he has, and even though he uses robotics in some of his surgeries, he strictly limits their use to one room at a time.
Dr. David Samadi attended Stony Brook University and received his degree in biochemistry while there. He also went on to earn his M.D in 1994 from the Stony Brook School of Medicine. He has performed operations on patients in over 45 countries and hosted the Fox News Channel show “Sunday Housecall” during 2011 to 2016. He is active on social media and loves to share recent medical breakthrough information and healthy living advice on both his Facebook and Twitter page. Looking into the future, Dr. Samadi hopes to continue to be a part of the advancement of robotic medical options that can change the world.
